Are you enthusiastic about enabling adults with learning disabilities to live their life as independently as possible, providing excellent care and support?
As a Care and Support Worker, you will support people with learning disabilities in a variety of settings, in line with agreed support and care plans, in all aspects of their everyday lives.
Main purpose of the role:
- Support people with learning disabilities in a variety of settings in line with agreed support plans in all aspects of their daily lives.
- Promote and enable choice, independence, self determination to people with a learning disability through practical, physical and emotional support.
- Contribute to creating a sense of community as a place of mutuality and belonging.

We have five ladies at this care home, they are fairly independent but need support with some aspects of their daily living.

Our new supported living service in Sherwood will support people who may have dual diagnoses, legal restrictions, a history of drug/and or alcohol use and complex support needs.

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and skilled Recovery Support Worker to join our new team at Beach House. The service provides high support housing to service users with enduring mental health backgrounds. The service consists of 8 flats and offers a full recovery and rehabilitation package to our service users.
We aim to support and assess on-going needs of our service users to build on their existing skills while learning new ones. All service users are allocated to a named Support Worker. Service users are required to fully participate in the process of planning their care, which includes attending support/key work sessions with staff; this time is for clients to discuss any issues or areas of concern they may have, or perhaps go out for a coffee/trip to local activities, or be supported with a practical task in their flat such as cleaning or laundry.
Role Responsibility
You will provide recovery focused support to service users in accordance with their support plans. You will have well-honed skills in positive communication, engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for service users.
You will have the maturity to work within a positive framework supporting clients. You will have the ability to deliver services and interventions in a person centred, non-judgmental manner, and recovery-based way.
You will work alongside members of the service user’s circle of support, to enable individuals to be happy, healthy, and successful in achieving their life goals.
Your typical duties will include:
- providing support and guidance to service users
- administering medication
- daily record keeping and incident report writing
- running group activities
- help with inducting new staff members
- upholding the cleanliness of the service to adhere to infection prevention control measures

The Ideal Candidate

This is a new crisis service, and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It comprises of 6 beds for short-stay accommodation, a drop-in service, and a phone support service.
Join our team at Turning Point as a Recovery Worker and you will play a full part in the day to day duties of the service, promoting recovery focused care and support plans to people who are experiencing a crisis with their mental health.
This role is part time 30 hours a week.
Role Responsibility
The main purpose of the role is to assist individuals to address and de-escalate their mental health crisis in a safe, friendly, non-clinical setting. You will deliver a high quality person centred service in line with the service specification and will work as part of a team.
In a role where no two shifts are the same, you will take referrals and assess new service users presenting with a mental health crisis, deliver support sessions, and facilitate informal group work and other therapeutic activities. You will also support and enable our service users to make informed choices about their future. Further duties include recording of service user information for reporting purposes and in line with GDPR, liaising with other health professionals, contributing to the safeguarding of vulnerable people, and ensuring that the premises are maintained in line with essential health and safety standards.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be able to demonstrate good knowledge, experience and values essential to working in the mental health sector. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor the message to the audience. Experience of supporting people with a range of other issues such as housing, drugs, alcohol, relationship problems would be beneficial. Full training is provided in order for the successful candidate to work safely, to learn and develop within the role and beyond.
The successful applicant will be required to work a varied rota that will include day shifts, weekends and the occasional night shift. Travel to and from shifts during unsocial hours is acknowledged as a potential difficulty, and so taxi fares are covered when reasonable and justifiable.
You will be confident in working with information technology on a range of software applications.
You will be able to deliver interventions in a person centred, non-judgemental manner. You will have the ability to deal effectively and calmly with challenging situations.

About the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide early support to unpaid carers across Aberdeenshire who are caring for an individual who requires support to be included in the discharge planning process from hospital. You will make an effective contribution to the provision of appropriate information, advice, support, guidance and access to services for unpaid carers. - Regularly reviewing needs of carers in light of changing and evolving circumstances, ensuring that support and information given is relevant and appropriate and in line with current local and national legislation and guidelines.
- Exploring and developing effective communication and informal networks amongst a wide range of individuals, including young and adult carers, volunteers, groups, agencies and health & social care professionals.

St Elizabeth Hospice is looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible team members to support young adults living with progressive illness and complex health care needs accessing Zest at St Elizabeth Hospice, including short breaks, Zest days and groups.
St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people in east Suffolk living with a progressive or life-limiting illness. Our work is centred on an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, whenever and wherever it is needed, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice. Our most recent Care Quality Commission report rated the hospice as “Outstanding”.
Established in 1989, the hospice has built a reputation for delivering high-level care to patients and the community it serves. Through medicine and therapy, they ease pain; give life purpose and make life liveable. Last year the charity supported over 4,000 patients and their families.
As a ‘bank’ Zest Care Assistant, we will call you to offer occasional shifts, predominantly Fridays and weekends. This may be planned or at short notice, for a full shift or as ad hoc additional hours, so flexibility and commitment is essential.
You will have a willingness to support young adults using person-centred care to plan activities and achieve their goals, and where appropriate encourage independence and self-management skills. Whilst enabling the young adults to enjoy a fun and comfortable stay, you will be required to assist in complex physical care and support.

Being a Care Assistant, you will be passionate about delivering first class care and show patience, kindness and understanding towards our residents. Assisting residents with immediate needs such as washing, dressing, and maintaining their hygiene is a key part in the role however, the role will also involve getting to know the residents personally and providing them with emotional support.
This role would suit someone who is caring, friendly and empathetic. You will need to be able to relate to people from variety of different backgrounds and make sure our residents never lose their dignity or sense of individuality. You will have the ability to work well as part of a team and have good communication skills.
It is desirable for you to have a S/NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (Adults) or be willing to undertake training to achieve an S/NVQ Level 2 qualification.
