We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and skilled Recovery Support Worker to join our new team at Sunningdale House. The service provides high support housing to service users with enduring mental health backgrounds. The service consists of 6 rooms with en-suite facilities and offers a full recovery and rehabilitation package to our service users.
We aim to support and assess on-going needs of our service users to build on their existing skills while learning new ones. All service users are allocated to a named Support Worker. Service users are required to fully participate in the process of planning their care, which includes attending support/key work sessions with staff; this time is for clients to discuss any issues or areas of concern they may have, or perhaps go out for a coffee/trip to local activities, or be supported with a practical task in their flat such as cleaning or laundry.
Role Responsibility
You will provide recovery focused support to service users in accordance with their support plans. You will have well-honed skills in positive communication, engagement, and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for service users.
You will have the maturity to work within a positive framework supporting clients. You will have the ability to deliver services and interventions in a person centred, non-judgmental manner, and recovery-based way.
You will work alongside members of the service user’s circle of support, to enable individuals to be happy, healthy, and successful in achieving their life goals.
Your typical duties will include:
- providing support and guidance to service users
- supporting Guests with their medication
- daily record keeping and incident report writing
- running group activities

Livingston Service already supports 3 people out in the community in their own homes. Some of these supported people need 24 hour support and others only need short periods of support.

All flats are located within the same building, creating a welcoming community feel and meaning there is no travel between sites, there is always a supportive staff team on hand.
Our service is ideally located just a 5-minute walk from St Andrews bus station, with regular connections to the rest of Fife, Dundee and surrounding areas.
We offer a good level of flexibility around shift patterns. Shifts run across 7 days with early shifts starting from 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm. Sleepover shifts* are a requirement in the service.
Please note that due to local bus timetables, public transport may not always be available for travel to or from surrounding areas at these times.
*A sleepover shift consists of working during the day, a rest period sleeping over in the service and then working again the next day. The sleepover period is over and above your contracted hours and gets paid as an additional payment of £100.80 per sleepover.

This will involve you effectively organising and delivering 1-2-1 care-planned support and facilitating group work sessions as required, using appropriate models, interventions and approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of service users. Furthermore, you will support them in their individual, person-centred journey to build recovery capital by partnership working with other support agencies and local projects. You will work closely with specialist teams within our service, including recovery connectors, employment workers, rehab workers, counsellors and clinical colleagues.
