GRADUATE ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION About the School Cargilfield was founded in 1873 and is the oldest preparatory school in Scotland. It is also the largest independent Prep School in Scotland and the north of England, as well as being the only independent boarding prep school in Edinburgh. The school is ideally situated in 13 acres of grounds, 10 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh and 15 minutes from the Airport. The school is co-educational and pupil numbers have risen to over 310 in the last few years. There are around 50 occasional boarders with day children able to stay until 7.30pm and occasionally board. The strong boarding ethos leads many children to make the most of the opportunities to be a weekly or a flexi-boarder from aged 8 and to participate in boarding weekends. Children are prepared for the Common Entrance examinations at 13+ as well as for Scholarship examinations to senior schools. About the Role
Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant looking for additional bank hours, working in our friendly Hospice at Home team? The Hospice at Home team provides care for patients with any life-limiting condition in their own homes. Support can be provided throughout a 24hr period, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Reporting to our PGA Assistant Professional Golf Ops Supervisor, you’ll be essential to our day-to-day golf and retail operations, ensuring that guests, members, and team are assisted with check-ins, tee sheet processing, equipment hire, rentals, and more.
As our Golf Retail Assistant, you’ll be:
- Continuously demonstrating a deep respect for our team, guests, members, owners, property, and wider natural environment.
- Ensuring all hire equipment is labelled, stored correctly, and in good working order for guest, member, and team use.
- Processing tee sheets and receiving and inputting booking requests accurately into our golf management system.
- Checking golfers in and processing payments via cash, card, and room charges, utilising the correct green fee code in addition to additional items such as retail and hire items.
- Supporting the general preparation and administration of golf events, as instructed by our Supervisor and Head PGA Professional.
- Cleaning, labelling, and setting up equipment as per standard operating procedures.

- Keep up to date on the latest trends and techniques in fundraising and apply learnings as appropriate on new and existing supporter acquisition initiatives
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager to maximise the impact of supporter welcome journeys
- Monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement.
- Working with the Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager, develop and implement a test and learn programme of Gifts in Wills campaign to both warm and cold audiences
- Manage supporter relationships with free Will provider agencies and keep records up to date on the CRM
- Provide management to an Individual Giving Officer, including daily support and development opportunities
- Support with management of Individual Giving Officers workload.
- Previous experience of developing and managing multi-channel supporter acquisition and retention programmes across F2F, digital and direct mail.
- Knowledge of latest trends and best practice of supporter stewardship

The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) is seeking Volunteer Event Assistants to support the delivery of TNB XPO 2026.
The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) is a nationwide network of film producers, educators and programmers of Black representation on screen. TNBFC offers services ranging from Film PR & Marketing, Consultancy, Event Management, Screenings, Distribution and Education.
This year, we will be hosting our 5th annual convention, whereby we showcase Black excellence and encourage increased diversity. TNB XPO 2026 (TX26) takes place between 23-26th March at Rich Mix and online on the 27th. Volunteers are an important part of our convention. They help us provide a great experience for our audience and participants. If you have a keen interest in the screen industries, increased diversity and would like to learn more about TNBFC, then we would love to hear from you.
Support can range from hospitality, meeting and greeting guests, signposting, providing support, information, and assistance with specific sessions.
Travel expenses (public transport within London Zones 1-6) will be reimbursed. We will also provide you with food and drinks.
Volunteers will also experience the excitement of the convention, including the films and events we organise. This opportunity is open to everyone; no prior experience required.
