The Bridge Project is a Bradford based charity with over 35 years’ experience delivering services and projects addressing a range of issues such as substance misuse, risk taking behaviours, relationships, housing, physical/mental health, and employment. We work with individuals, families, partners, and communities to improve people’s lives in a sustainable way, empowering people experiencing multiple barriers to achieve positive change.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the well-established multiple needs navigation service as a navigator, delivering support to people who are at risk of re-offending and who are managed by the Probation Services. The role aims to improve the lives and wellbeing of people with multiple needs, who find it difficult to engage in services, who revolve in and out of services or are excluded from services. As a Navigator, you will work in an outreach capacity to help people who experience multiple needs (housing, substance misuse, offending behaviour, mental health, and physical health) to access the services and the interventions that they need to build their resilience, gain confidence, and acquire the personal and social assets they need to meet their aspirations.
You will be qualified to Social Care Level 3 or equivalent or qualified through appropriate life or job experience, along with at least 1 years’ experience of delivering advice or support in health, social care, homelessness or an offender service setting in the last 3 years. You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a supportive team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained, whilst applying your knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care approaches.
Bridge is a value driven organisation, and we are looking for a Navigator who can demonstrate our key behaviours such as working proactively, being client focussed and values and respects others. The key duties are to develop person-centred, multi-agency support plans, be the single point of contact which includes planning contact to meet individuals needs and identify and overcome crisis points that may cause disengagement. Most of all, you will place individuals at the heart of your interactions, with the ability to build up a rapport and trust, with personal skills around warmth, compassion, empathy and resilience with a desire to help people and get things done. Often situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging so you will need to have a non-judgemental approach and strong professional boundaries.
The Navigator position is a full-time permanent role. It is essential that the successful candidate has a driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance in order to transport clients in connection with the role. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.
As well as a rewarding career, in return we can offer a competitive salary, 4% pension contribution, 32 days annual leave (for full-time staff/pro-rata for part-time), an L&D programme, employee assistance scheme, life insurance, a programme of mindfulness activities for staff and a monthly two-hour wellbeing session. The Bridge Project is a Mindful Employer.
If you would like to have an informal conversation about the role, please contact Angela Berthebaud, Service Manager on angela.berthebaud@thebridgeproject.org.uk to arrange this.
You must complete the Bridge Project’s application form in order to be considered for the role. The application form plays a key part in our recruitment and selection process.
