Our new Charity Retail Assistant Shop Manager will join us on a Full Time, Permanent basis, working a contract of 35 hours per week, earning a salary of £23,132.20 annum / £12.71 an hour.

What we are looking for in our Assistant Store Manager:
You will be motivated and enthusiastic, with good customer service and retail administration skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure to meet targets and to help and support the efficient running of our store in South Queensferry.

- Supervise and manage both paid employees and volunteers
- Use visual merchandising talents to ensure the store is presented well and promoting commercial success
- Use your expert selling skills to assist the Shop Manager in maximising profit and hitting agreed targets and budgets

We are looking to recruit an efficient, organised and reliable cleaner/house keeper to maintain given areas to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. You will comply with specific hospice policies and procedures maintaining particular regard to cleanliness, tidiness, infection control, health and safety and patient comfort.
To succeed in this role
- You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- It is essential for the post holder to be flexible to meet the demands of the department and to cover additional hours, annual leave and sickness (which may include other evenings, weekends or bank holidays).
- You will need previous cleaning experience. Experience of cleaning in a similar healthcare environment would also be desirable i.e. Hospital / Nursing home, however, full training will be given to the right candidate.

Our Golf Retail Assistant role:
We’re looking for an energetic and friendly Golf Retail Assistant to support our Golf Operations team at The Machrie Islay.
Reporting to our PGA Assistant Professional Golf Ops Supervisor, you’ll be essential to our day-to-day golf and retail operations, ensuring that guests, members, and team are assisted with check-ins, tee sheet processing, equipment hire, rentals, and more.
As our Golf Retail Assistant, you’ll be:
- Continuously demonstrating a deep respect for our team, guests, members, owners, property, and wider natural environment.
- Ensuring all hire equipment is labelled, stored correctly, and in good working order for guest, member, and team use.
- Processing tee sheets and receiving and inputting booking requests accurately into our golf management system.
- Checking golfers in and processing payments via cash, card, and room charges, utilising the correct green fee code in addition to additional items such as retail and hire items.
- Supporting the general preparation and administration of golf events, as instructed by our Supervisor and Head PGA Professional.
- Cleaning, labelling, and setting up equipment as per standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring golf clubs, golf balls, push/pull carts, and golf buggies are organised, accessible, and readily available.
- Developing, improving, and supporting our guest services, seeking to go above and beyond to exceed expectations.
- Ensuring that locker rooms are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Acting as an ambassador of our Another Place – The Machrie brand and fostering a sense of community between our guests, members, and team.
Please note, this is a full-time role on an Annualised Hour Contract working 40 hours per week.
The skills you’ll be sharing with us:
- Educated to high school level (or above)
- A passion for golf, the golf game, and developing your skills (preferred)
- Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office systems
- A comprehensive knowledge of golf and golf rules (desirable)
- Ability to work under your own initiative
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards
- Hospitality experience within a similar retail/customer-facing setting (preferred)
- A desire to learn, grow, and develop yourself within a fast-paced environment
- A flexible schedule approach that adapts to evolving business needs and demands

Join our friendly team of Museum Assistants.
We are looking for new team members to join our friendly team from February. Gain experience in a varied museum environment, delivering great customer service whilst working in both retail and catering. We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic, creative applicants who are good with people and able to use their initiative and prepared to muck in.
