About the role
Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.
In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.
This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:

Responsibilities
- To work with residents/tenants to develop culturally accessible resources to prepare them for a move to appropriate accommodation, including advice and support on move-on accommodation, rent deposit schemes, understanding tenancies, budgeting, accessing utilities and services, and accessing welfare/housing benefits and grants.

About the Role
The Young Person Criminal Justice Practitioner plays a vital role in supporting young people affected by substance misuse and involvement in the Criminal Justice System. Working within Insight Lewisham, the post holder will deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions designed to reduce harm, address offending behaviour and support long-term positive change.
The role involves working across the full journey of a young person’s engagement, from assessment and risk management through to intervention, recovery planning and onward support. Due to an exciting expansion of services, the hospice is adding to their well-established medical team.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a passion for delivering exemplary care, to join us in looking after people affected by life-limiting illness in both the hospice and community settings.
You will be working in our newly developed Palliative Advice Centre (PACE), as well as being an integral part of the medical team on the in-patient unit and Sunflower Living Well Centre. Our services are based in our purpose-built hospice situated one mile from Macclesfield town centre. There is ample free parking available on site.
PACE operates 24/7. You will be expected to be able to work across 7 days, between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
Our new team member will:
- Undertake face to face reviews of palliative patients, working across clinical settings, inclusive of hospice & community work
- Deliver expert advice to healthcare professionals, patients and relatives both in person and over the phone
- Coordinate care for people with a life-limiting illness
- Be confident liaising with other healthcare professionals, making recommendations for changes to medication regimes/plans of care and advocating for patients and their families

Qualifications required-
Level 5 PBS Qualification is essential and willingness to work to level 6/7 or ABA qualification with minimum one year working PBS experience

Community Integrated Care supports individuals with a wide range of needs and in many cases, people whose needs and histories mean that individuals can reasonably be predicted to present with behaviours that challenge.
The organisation’s current approach to significant behaviour is to use the least restrictive practices to support the individual through stressful episodes and as such the relevant colleagues are trained in the MAPA (Managing Actual and Potential Aggression) model of interventions (licensed through the Crisis Prevention Institute). However, the aspiration is to for the organisation to adopt the recovery model approaches of Active Support and Positive Behavioural Support which advocate a more proactive approach to prevention and reduction of behaviours that challenge and overall improvement to quality of life outcomes.
The successful candidate will possess excellent writing skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills. Furthermore, the candidate should also possess strong computer skills (e.g., formatting Word documents, creating Excel spreadsheets), and should have experience in conducting research. Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge of care standards and social care legislation. A knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is preferable but not essential as this can be trained.

Operating within a small team providing in-reach and out-reach support, the Support Worker will provide high level support to customers and provide specialist advice, guidance and enable customers in their journey to achieve their goals. Part time Refuge Support Worker
We currently have an opportunity for a Refuge Support Worker to join Peterborough Women’s Aid. This role is based in Peterborough and is part time, 22.5 hours per week. The annual salary is £16458. Applications close on Monday January 26th at 5pm
You will work closely with families who have fled abuse and now reside out our refuge. You will offer practical and emotional support to these families and welcoming safe environment
You will work closely within a team in a fast-paced environment making quick informed decisions to ensure the safety of victims of domestic abuse.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide practical and emotional support to women and children living in our refuges. Including, completing safety planning, compiling support plans and undertaking regular key working sessions.
- Assessing referrals to the refuge to ensure that we can meet their needs.
- Welcoming new residents, explaining policies and procedures and completing entry paperwork.
- Ensuring vacant rooms are prepared and re-let as soon as possible.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date casework records.
- Establishing the risks to, and needs of, the residents assessing their practical and emotional support needs and using this information to formulate support plans.
- Support clients to access appropriate benefits, apply for housing and access legal advice, as required and attending appointments to support and advocate for clients, if needed.
- Ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are immediately raised with your line manager.
- Facilitating and running group work programmes.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
- Attend and participate in staff team meetings.
- Contribute to planning, development and evaluation of the service.
- Maintain confidentiality and work within PWA’s code of conduct and all other policies and procedures.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing evening and weekend support.
- Complete awareness and educational talks to community groups and organisations, as required.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.

As well as understanding their clinical needs, you’ll get to know what’s important to each child you support. Whether it’s knowing what their favourite song to listen to is, how they like to play, or what sooths them when they are sad – at Noah’s Ark it’s so important that each child is treated as an individual. You’ll focus on what children can do, rather than their limitations, and will support them to experience things they may never have thought possible.
And by providing care for children, either at our state-of-the art building, The Ark, or out in the community, you’ll be allowing parents and cares to take some time for themselves. The hours of care you’ll provide will make a huge difference, allowing them to live life outside of their child’s condition. By creating this time, you’ll be creating choice – something which can feel impossible for the families we support.
You will be a senior carer in our team and will pass on your skills and experience by supporting and training junior colleagues. You will actively lead care planning reviews, projects and meetings.
Your commitment to children and families will continue through to end-of-life care. You’ll be a guiding reassuring presence for families, and working with other healthcare professionals to create as much comfort as possible.

Teaching Fellow in Small Animal Primary Care
LIVE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Fellow in Small Animal Primary Care, within the LIVE Centre in the Department of Clinical Science and Services (CCS). We are looking to recruit a teaching fellow to contribute to the clinical teaching in the rotation phase of our undergraduate veterinary courses as well as provide small group teaching in the Principles of Veterinary Practice strand. We invite applications from individuals with expertise in small animals, and familiarity with primary care practice in the UK. The post holders should expect to develop and deliver teaching with the aim of preparing and supporting students undertaking clinical rotations and to assist in the delivery of and reflection on feedback. The role involves primary care clinical work in addition to coordination, teaching and assessment of veterinary students.
You will be based on our Hawkshead Campus but may also be asked to support teaching in other clinical facilities associated with our clinical teaching, and so should be prepared to travel. You will work closely and collaboratively with rotation leaders and other members of the clinical team to deliver the learning objectives of our primary care-focused rotations that run throughout the year. The role will involve extensive interactions with colleagues and students and require excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We are looking to recruit veterinary surgeon (MRCVS or eligible for MRCVS) with a desire to teach in a primary care setting and contribute to the development of the next generation of veterinarians. Previous teaching and assessment experience within a clinical setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
