About Dimensions
At Dimensions, every day is a chance to make a real difference. Guided by courage and ambition, we promise you purpose in your work, pride in your impact, and support to grow. Together, we’ll create lives filled with joy, independence, and unforgettable experiences. Because when every day matters, the work we do truly changes lives.
About the Role
- Support Worker
- Full time – 37.5 Hours per week
- Metheringham, Lincoln
- Full UK driving licence and access to own car essential.
We are looking for full-time Support Workers to join a small, established team supporting a woman in her late 20s who lives on her own in Metheringham, having recently moved from Sleaford.
She is autistic and receives 2:1 support. She has complex needs and experiences behaviours of distress, including self-injury. Routine is extremely important to her, and most days follow the same structure. Transitions can be difficult, which is why day shifts run from 8am to 10pm. She also requires wake night and sleep-in support, with shifts forming part of a two-week rolling rota, including alternate weekends.
She enjoys music, Ghostbusters, and Teletubbies, and has a great sense of humour. Her interests are often mood-dependent, but may include long walks, trips to the seaside, visiting animal attractions and attending community-based clubs.
You will provide full support with personal care, help with meal preparation through verbal prompting, and encourage independence wherever possible. She has a wheelchair but uses it very minimally.
Flexibility is important, as you may also work across our other homes in Metheringham to make up your contracted hours when needed.
About You
You don’t need to have worked in care before, although experience with autism and complex behaviours would be valuable. What matters most is the right approach, patience, resilience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm during challenging situations.
You’ll be fully supported when you join us, with a four-week shadowing period, dedicated time alongside a highly experienced, long-standing team member, and full training including Positive Behaviour Support and Pro-Act SCIP.
You’ll need a full UK manual driving licence, access to your own car, and be willing to drive her automatic vehicle to support her in the community.
