As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker, you will be responsible for managing and key working a caseload of adults with various mental health challenges and needs. These may include anxiety, depression and bi-polar disorder and other diagnoses, as well as issues such as substance misuse and difficulties in trusting support services. One of the challenges in this role will be to encourage clients to engage with the recovery process. You will collaborate with your clients to develop individual support and needs plans and establish SMART goals to maximise their potential for recovery. In this role, you will greet new clients, assess their risks, and facilitate an induction process to welcome them into our services. You will also provide advice on welfare and benefits, so a strong understanding of universal credit, housing and homelessness legislation is beneficial. A crucial aspect of this position involves assisting clients in their transition and successful reintegration into society – our mission statement is to ‘promote recovery, maximise independence and build community’. 3. Being a Care Assistant, you will be passionate about delivering first class care and show patience, kindness and understanding towards our residents. Steam House cafes are purpose designed mental health crisis cafes across Norfolk & Suffolk. We offer a unique and safe cafe-styled space with a fully-trained multidisciplinary team, offering holistic support to adults experiencing mental health crisis – day and night.
The service is operational 7 days per week, day and night, so flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service.
Drawing on experiences and learnings from decades of assistance to those most vulnerable in our community, STEAM provides clients with a calming and informed environment beneficial to their needs.
Each cafe provides guidance, support and personalised pathway plans, which are mindfully coproduced over a period of time with our team, to enhance future wellbeing for the client.
Main Responsibilities:
- To work in conjunction with managers and other key agencies in developing both policy and associated practice that meet the combined needs of the client group
- To provide individual and bespoke support, information, signposting and access to appropriate and relevant services for those wishing to access the crisis hub

Here at Forward Trust, we deliver a complex range of drug and alcohol services in the unique prison environment. Our support includes providing advice, health and wellbeing, motivational work, clinical services, and a wider range of group work and treatment programmes.

Forward Trust’s Connections Team at HMP Millsike will have responsibility for delivery of a core ‘Connections’ service including:

As part of our Connections Team, you will help us to create a strong recovery ethos (or ‘ecosystem’) across the prison with a particular focus on our Designated Desistance Wing/ISFL.
Incentivised Substance Free Living (ISFL) – building on Forward’s experience of running ‘recovery wings’ in a variety of prisons.
Access to ‘Forward Connect – Forward’s added value ‘recovery community’ of former clients (ex-offenders and those in recovery) with nationwide membership of over 1,000.
1:1 support and complementary group workshops, such as resilience.
Recovery Themed Promotional Material - Wall-stencilled motivational messages and quotes, case study literature, videos and podcasts from Forward’s More Than My Past campaign.
You will be working as part of a team of twenty skilled individuals and you will be offered a thorough induction at an organisational and service level. Training provided included eLearning live workshops .You will be provided with training from the Prison to support you feeling safe and confident in the expectations of you being a key holder.
All prison-based roles will require enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting. Please note this process can take up to 3-6 months. All offers are subject to receiving both HMPPS vetting and DBS clearances.
