We are looking to appoint a full-time Area Director, based in our Belfast office. The role is wide ranging, reports to the Head of Personnel & Deputy Director and includes:
- Developing the work of UFM Worldwide in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
- Pastoral support for the mission partners sent from and serving in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
- Developing relationships with like-minded evangelical churches and organisations
- Managing the Belfast office and staff, and maintaining regular contact with the other UFM offices
The successful candidate will:
- Have a heart for mission and a love for people
- Be an excellent public speaker with Bible teaching and pastoral experience
- Have previous experience operating in a Christian environment
- Demonstrate good leadership, administration and organisational skills

Refugee Festival Scotland is a unique community and arts festival dedicated to achieving positive and lasting social change. Co-ordinated by Scottish Refugee Council, the Festival is held across Scotland every June and provides a platform for refugee communities to showcase their skills, talents and cultures and to tell new, more positive stories about integration and diversity in Scotland. In 2026, the Festival will run from 12th – 21st June.
We are looking for a Programming Fellow to join our team and develop a strand of the 2026 Festival. The fellowship is presented as a learning and development opportunity for an emerging producer or curator to gain hands-on experience in festival programming and programming operations. The Fellow will work closely with the Festival team and will be supported to develop and deliver a programme of events.
The Fellow should have a demonstrated interest in the arts and themes of migration, but no previous programming experience is required. As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to provide a short proposal for the event(s) they would like to develop.
We invite applications from all programming specialisms and backgrounds, including music, performing arts, film, poetry, visual arts, heritage and socially engaged practice. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals

About the role Regional Safety & Security Manager (ROW)
Sightsavers are actively recruiting a Regional Safety and Security Manager to join their global security team. Reporting to the Head of Global Security and Crisis Management, this role supports both the South Asia region and programmes/activities in programmatic countries without a Sightsavers office. Overseeing all matters of physical security risk management and resilience. The role will also lead on security training programming and delivery as the team brings this in house.
You will work within a professional and busy team along side two other RSSMs and a Global Security Officer. Responsibilities
The RSSM will work in collaboration with country directors and offices, programme managers, security focal points (SFPs to manage security risks in in South Asia and designated countries.
The post-holder will lead as the team reviews training needs and develops new internal training to be delivered across the organisation.
Manage and report all security incidents, conduct and review risk assessments, monitor intelligence sources and all regional security developments. Produce detailed analysis on specific threats to the senior management team and contribute to monthly security reporting.
Skills and Experience
- Substantial security management experience at a country or regional level within south Asia, specifically Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
- Extensive experience in designing, sourcing or delivering personal security (including HEAT), driver and resilience training for an international organisation.
- Degree educated in a relevant field (such as security, intelligence, conflict studies, international relations, risk management) and/or professional security qualification (INSA. ASIS CPP). Or a proven track record within security management in a similar level role.
- Fluent English both written and spoken.
- Crisis and incident management knowledge and work experience.
- Proven working experience delivering robust risk assessments, contingency planning and maintaining security documentation.

Job description
Stem cell therapies offer a new therapeutic paradigm in regenerative medicine. Bioengineering approaches can help to deliver specialised cells targeting specific clinical challenges, yet there remain many hurdles to their industrial manufacture. You will be a member of a team of researchers contributing to the cross-disciplinary EPSRC funded Research and Partnership Hub for Health Technologies in Manufacturing Stem Cells for Regenerative Medicine, Immunotherapy and Cancer (MAINSTREAM), which is led by the University of Glasgow’s Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment (CeMi). This hub is aiming to achieve high-volume manufacture of MSC-specific growth substrates that will remove the barriers to cell therapies. For this project, you will be based in the Centre for Medical and Industrial Ultrasonics (C-MIU) in the James Watt School of Engineering, working with a collaborative team across the Universities of Glasgow, Strathclyde and Nottingham, and with a well-established collaborative team of industrial, clinical and charity partners.

Job Purpose
To make a leading contribution to the development of ultrasound tools for mesenchymal stem cell manipulation. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging translational project, as opportunities allow.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Take a leading role in the planning and conduct of assigned research individually or jointly in accordance with the project deliverables and MAINSTREAM research strategy.
2. Investigate and optimise the use of standing waves (ultrasound field patterning) as a tool to influence and control microcarrier and cell aggregation in large volume suspensions.
3. Investigate and identify the forces experienced by cells subjected to ultrasound fields, considering variability by ultrasound frequency, duration and amplitude of vibration (as controlled by incident pressure).
4. Document research output including analysis and interpretation of all data, maintaining records and databases, drafting technical/progress reports and papers as appropriate.
5. Establish and maintain your research profile and reputation and that of C-MIU, Ce-Mi, the James Watt School of Engineering and the MAINSTREAM hub, including establishing and sustaining a track record of independent and joint publications of international quality, enhancing the research impact in terms of economic/societal benefit, and gathering indicators of esteem.
6. Survey the research literature and environment, understand the research challenges associated with the project and subject area, and develop/implement a suitable research strategy to deliver project/area requirements and opportunities.
7. Presentation of work at international and national conferences, at internal and external seminars, colloquia and workshops to develop and enhance our research and/or impact profile.
8. Take a leading role in the identification of potential funding sources and assist in the development of proposals to secure funding from internal and external bodies to support future research and impact.
