Sightsavers is looking for an experienced Regional Laboratory Technical Advisor with experience of quality control and capacity building, to provide technical support to laboratories as part of Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF) programme. Responsibilities
The Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF) expansion project is a six-year, $500m programme that will progress the elimination of onchocerciasis (OV) and lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Africa. Sightsavers is looking for an experienced laboratory professional with direct experience of technical operations and sample analysis, to support the establishment and expansion of a small external quality assurance network and ensure compliance with the relevant accreditation standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to be directly responsible for the standardisation and accreditation of RLMF funded laboratories, implementation of external quality assurance and strengthening logistics and supply chains, in order to support and advance the elimination of OV in Africa. You will be confident managing the collaboration of other laboratories, external communications including to donors and stakeholders, and disseminating information and learnings.
As a Laboratory Technical Advisor for RLMF, you will have extensive experience in laboratory systems, quality control and capacity building with the ability to advise, support and provide training. Relevant experience in onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, or other Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) is beneficial.
This is a large work plan with extensive deliverables and as Laboratory Technical Advisor for RLMF you must be able to confidently work independently. This opportunity includes significant travel across Africa with occasional visits to the Head Office in Haywards Heath, UK.
Skills and Experience
- Proven working experience and/or qualifications in laboratory management, quality assurance, laboratory capacity building or similar;
- Experience conducting and quality assuring Enzyme-Linked Immuno-Sorbance Assays (ELISA)
- Experience conducting and quality assuring Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and quantitative PCR assays
- Experience conducting the above ELISA and PCR/qPCR assays in African laboratories
- Working knowledge of GLP, SLIMTA, SLIPTA or ISO 15189 accreditation frameworks
- Previous experience managing EQA and quality control in resource constrained environments
- Strong design and delivery of training to laboratory personnel
- First class time management to meet donor driven deadlines
- Strong or fluent English both written and spoken
- Able to work largely without supervision (and within a team)
- Willingness and availability to travel for training, attending meetings, workshops and conferences, subject to an appropriate risk assessment being in place
Desirable
- Experience with onchocerciasis diagnostics
- Experience working as part of a multi-organizational team
- French as a second language. Candidates with French and English fluency will have preferential weighting during the assessment process.
- Understanding of research governance and ethical principles particularly in relation to research with vulnerable people
- Knowledge of NTDs and health systems

Music Director
Renaissance Choir
The Renaissance Choir, one of the leading non-professional chamber choirs on the South coast, seeks a new Music Director to take up post in September 2026, following the retirement of the current post-holder after 34 years.
The Renaissance Choir is an auditioned SATB choir of around 30 members. Rehearsals take place at the Emsworth Community Centre, PO10 7DD, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday evenings.
We put on at least four (and often five) concerts in S.E. Hampshire and West Sussex, and rehearse around 40 times a year. We present a varied, ambitious repertoire ranging from the Renaissance through to contemporary works.
We are looking for a dynamic and empathetic individual with the skill to build on the existing high standard of performance of the choir, to develop the musicianship of its members, to help attract new singers, and to ensure continuing audience appeal.

We are a registered charity formed in 1973, well established in the local community with a membership of 90 drawn from across north Norfolk. Although we have no formal auditions, our members are experienced choral singers used to four part harmonies. FCS has broadened its repertoire from the core choral works to pieces from Britten to Will Todd via Purcell and Hammerstein. The choir produces three concerts per year (hiring in orchestra and professional soloists) plus a very successful Come and Sing event.

About the Drive Project (Bradford)
The Drive Project is not a pilot or test programme, It is a well-established national model, currently being rolled out across England, reflecting sustained national commitment to coordinated, whole-system responses to domestic abuse. In Bradford, the service is being delivered by The Bridge Project in partnership with the Drive Central Team and West Yorkshire Combined Authority and will be fully embedded within local safeguarding and partnership arrangements from the outset.
The Drive Project works with individuals who pose the highest risk of causing serious harm within intimate or family relationships. The programme combines intensive individual case management with a coordinated multi-agency response, creating the conditions for accountability, behaviour change and sustained risk reduction, while keeping victim and survivor safety at the centre of all activity.
The Bradford Drive service will be delivered by a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team, and we are recruiting to all posts comprising of:
- 1 Service Manager (full time),providing operational leadership, safeguarding oversight, model fidelity and day-to-day supervision and management of the service
- 4 full time Case Managers, working directly with individuals who cause harm to challenge abusive behaviour, promote responsibility, and sustain engagement over time
- 2 full time Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs), providing specialist, victim-centred advocacy, safety planning and risk management; IDVAs receive additional external clinical supervision alongside in-house specialist support
- 1 full time Panel Coordinator, responsible for managing the Drive Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Panel, including intelligence flow, action tracking and multi-agency coordination
The team will operate with fidelity to the Drive model, a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework, balancing challenge and accountability with engagement and support. Staff will work closely a range of systems and service such as police, probation, children’s and adult safeguarding, housing, health and specialist adult and child domestic abuse services to ensure a coordinated and effective response to high-risk harm and victim/ survivor safety.
Funding and Retention
The Drive Programme is currently funded through a Home Office national programme. While funding beyond March 2027 remains subject to government spending reviews and funding cycles, Drive is a well-established, evidence-based model that is currently under national roll-out, reflecting continued national prioritisation of whole-system responses to high-harm domestic abuse.
In recognition of the commitment involved in joining a time-limited, externally funded programme, the organisation offers a £2,000 retention payment. Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Cooking

Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of students and staff.

Adapt menus to support medical, cultural, sensory, and allergy-related dietary requirements.

Prepare meals in appropriate textures (e.g., soft, puréed) for students with swallowing or sensory difficulties (dysphasic).
Menu Planning

Create weekly menus that follow nutritional guidelines and college policies.

Work with the all colleagues to design meals that support students’ individual needs.

Plan cost-effective menus while minimising food waste.
Food Safety & Hygiene

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.

Follow all food hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP procedures, allergy protocols).

Ensure safe storage, handling, and rotation of stock (FIFO).
Supporting Students (Where Applicable)

Assist students in life-skills or catering classes by demonstrating safe food preparation techniques.

Nutrition is an important element of the care package that we provide. You’ll be actively involved in the nutritional needs of our residents, to ensure that a high-quality dining experience is received by everyone. You’ll get to know our residents and their families so that you’ll be motivated to understand and accommodate their personal preferences. Some weekend work will be required.

ABOUT YOU
You’ll need to have previous experience of working in a professional kitchen and catering for specialist diets, providing meals for large groups of people, alongside a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Ideally you’ll also be working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking or equivalent but this is not essential.
You’ll be confident in engaging with our elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy being part of the wider team in the home.
