About the service...
Working in partnership, Waythrough and the Bridge Project, are providing temporary accommodation on behalf of Bradford Metropolitan District Council as part of their Bradford Temporary Accommodation Service. Our service supports women who present as homeless to the Local Authority.
Our Bradford Temporary Accommodation service will provide accommodation to women who were homeless and have a history or risk of offending. They will receive flexible support, in groups or one to one, whilst tenants in our properties in Bradford and Keighley.

We are excited to introduce the new Housing Officer role, created to support the delivery of high-quality housing support and management services within the Bradford Temporary Accommodation Service (BTAS).
As part of our dedicated housing team, you will play a key role in delivering effective housing management by working directly with tenants who have complex needs and come from diverse backgrounds. Your work will be instrumental in helping vulnerable and homeless individuals sustain their accommodation and rebuild their lives.
This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference. While it can be demanding, it is also deeply fulfilling, offering daily opportunities to create lasting change.
Key responsibilities will include:
The Housing Officer will Work in partnership with the BTAS team and Bradford Met council and other key stakeholders to identify referrals, meet prospective service users and undertake comprehensive assessments of their support needs and their appropriateness for the service.
Prepare Tenant Licence/AST Agreements, ensuring they are signed and managed appropriately.
Manage the Right to Rent in the UK process, ensuring all tenants meet the required legislation.
Support the tenancy toolkit process and deliver Tenant Welcome Packs, Expectations Agreements and House Rules.
Manage the Void process, monitoring Void units and working with the housing manager, Repairs team, housing management team and support teams to ensure they are filled within a timely manner.
Carry out tenancy property inspections, ensuring all required works are completed and within the agreed timescales.
Record comprehensive case notes, input information onto the database promptly and maintain any other relevant Management Information Systems as required.
Carry out a Home Safety risk assessment alongside the client to identify risks within the home.
About you...

About the Role

What You’ll Do
- Effectively manage a caseload of service users, reviewing and updating on-going processes such as risk assessments, risk management plans and safeguarding assessments and plans.
- Work closely and collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team across the service and externally, providing advice and reports/ information to managers and other colleagues, through attendance at reviews, team meetings, supervision and via telephone conversations.
- Improve outcomes for children, parents/carers and families of services users by reducing the impact of drug and alcohol related harm on family life and promote positive family involvement in recovery.
- Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work and psychosocial interventions that meet local need across both group work and one to one formats.
- Identify and prevent potential harm to service users and others by following local and organisational safeguarding guidelines, including referral to and engagement with relevant safeguarding authorities.
- Support delivery of key service functions through actively participating in drug screening, duty work, access to BBV testing and immunisation service provision, community needle exchange services and the ongoing delivery of appropriate, tailored alcohol and drug harm reduction interventions.

The Commercial department operates as a profit centre within the Lancing College Enterprises (LCE) business domain. This encompasses several business streams that deliver critical revenue and profit, which currently consists of a mix of holiday and general lettings and camps, the College shop and events that include weddings, concerts and conferences using Lancing College and Dorset House (Bury Manor Barn) facilities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Event Hospitality and Catering Support
- To assist the management team in the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations.
- To assist in the maintenance of high standards in Hygiene and Health and Safety.
- To ensure that all foods to be served from designated function areas, are presented in accordance with College standards.
Hygiene and Safety
- To monitor the implementation of cleaning schedules, taking remedial action as required, in the absence of supervisors.
- To ensure all temperature checks are carried out and recorded to the standard required to company policies.
- To clean designated areas, which may change from time to time to include, corridors, stairs, showers, kitchen, WC’s, teaching rooms and public areas.
- To maintain cleaning equipment to the required standard.
- To ensure areas are kept safe and secure.
- To observe and comply with the School’s Health & Safety policy and Code of Practice.
- To observe COSHH regulations and the safe use of chemicals.
Guest Management and Visitor Experience
- To act as a visible and approachable point of contact for guests, providing clear directions, assistance, and information to ensure a positive visitor experience throughout the event.
- To welcome guests on arrival and monitor guest flow within buildings and outdoor areas, helping to prevent congestion and movement of visitors between parking areas, entrances, and event spaces.
- To assist with traffic management during busy periods, including directing vehicles to designated parking and overflow areas (training will be provided).
- To support the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians, particularly during arrival and departure times.
- To remain vigilant to potential hazards related to traffic, parking, or crowd movement and report concerns immediately to the manager overseeing the event.
