The role
We’re leading the development and delivery of work to ensure the effective operation of the Students’ Union’s Advice Centre at Royal Holloway. The Advice Centre provides free, confidential, and impartial advice to students on academic, housing, and wellbeing matters.
The role supports advisors in offering up-to-date guidance, manages education and outreach campaigns, and works collaboratively across the organisation to ensure student experiences and insights inform our wider work.
Our approach is built around four key themes:
Educate – helping students understand their rights and access the information they need.
Listen – providing a confidential space for students to be heard.
Guide – offering tailored advice and signposting to relevant support services.
Advocate – ensuring students are treated fairly and their voices are represented.
This work contributes to the overall success of the organisation by supporting students and strengthening the Union’s role as an advocate for their needs.

About The Elms
The Elms is a large two-storey house within the Ravenswood Estate, home to six residents aged in their 60s and 70s with mild to moderate neurodevelopmental disabilities, including learning disabilities, and additional needs such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, dementia, and mobility challenges. Most residents are verbal, using clear speech, facial expressions, or visual prompts to communicate.
Residents enjoy a relaxed, social lifestyle with hobbies including arts and crafts, knitting, music, TV, and trips to coffee shops. Some are sociable; others prefer a quieter routine. The house includes self-contained flats, a dedicated arts room, and a garden with countryside views.
Support is provided 24/7 with a 3-week rota pattern and most shifts running 07:00 to 21:00. As with all Norwood services, the people we support lead the way, the rota flexes to fit their needs, not the other way around. You’ll be joining a stable and values-led team committed to Kindness, Respect, Belonging, and Empowerment.
Your Day-to-Day
Your role will be varied and active. You’ll:

We are looking for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to join our amazing MHARS team.
You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Community Mental Health Team, providing a crisis line; an open access, single point of telephone access for self-referral and agency referrals. You will respond to calls in a manner guided by the service principles being inclusive, sensitive and respectful.
From the moment you answer the telephone, you will listen and ensure that you understand the issues that have led to crisis for that person, providing an immediate response to those whose life may be in immediate danger. Understanding each person’s unique situation resulting in fast, tailored support and finding ways to successfully resolve the crisis situation and assist planning for the future.
Once the initial period of crisis has been addressed you will support connections to additional, statutory or community support and/or deliver a Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) response to those in distress. This will involve community-based problem-solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supporting connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days. You will be flexible and responsive, offering the medium of support that the supported person feels most comfortable with.
You will assist people who use the service to establish and maintain a meaningful and fulfilling life in the community. Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioners play a central role in the planning and provision of quality, recovery focused support to people who use the service.

The International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders (IJLCD) is the RCSLT’s international, peer-reviewed journal, which publishes research focusing on speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders, and other relevant aspects of speech & language therapy.
We are seeking a new Associate Editor for the IJLCD to join our supportive editorial team.
The role of Associate Editor offers the post-holder the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the dissemination of quality research in speech & language therapy.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate for this position will:
- Have a PhD in a relevant academic discipline
- Possess a proven track record (peer-reviewed publications, presentations at conferences, and/or other research enabling activities) within paediatric / child-focused research
- Have experience of carrying out peer-review
- Commit to carrying out the role for a minimum term of three years
- Be able to participate in four editorial meetings a year
Experience as an SLT and membership of the RCSLT is desirable.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies is looking to recruit a Research Analyst to work for the IISS Defence and Military Analysis Programme (DMAP), focusing on air and space forces and the air and space domains. The programme’s major print and online output is the IISS flagship publication The Military Balance and the Military Balance+ electronic database, widely regarded as the global benchmark in the assessment of national military capabilities and defence economics.
- Reporting to the aerospace data team lead; collect, assess and validate air and space domain force structure, equipment inventory and deployment data for IISS publications and databases.
- Assist in DMAP research and analysis on air and space forces and military aerospace issues.

As an overnight on-site Support Worker, you’ll help to provide a secure, happy and supportive environment within Cranford Avenue in Weymouth. You’ll live on site as a sleep in Support Worker, where 8 of our service users reside, ensuring an environment that is clean, tidy, warm and inviting.
As a Night Support Worker and premise Caretaker, you will work from 10pm to 8.30am 5 nights per week.
This is a sleep in role where you will be sleeping in your own flat providing on call service to 8 residents in Cranford Ave for 5 nights a week for £30.00 per sleeping night. The flat is attached to Cranford Avenue, as part of the tied accommodation. This is tied accommodation where rent is payable at a discounted rate and will be discussed in more detail at interview.

Based in a bustling community building, The Nest offers a variety of classes, sessions and workshops, all to support parental mental and physical health, as well as to support the learning of babies and toddlers.
The role of Director is an opportunity to influence the running of The Nest Holmfirth CIC and shape its future. Working with other committed Directors and staff, you will gain valuable experience of leading, sustaining and developing a small community organisation. Directors take legal responsibility for the governance of the organisation, and this is supported by staff.
Time commitment: We have around four Director meetings per year, plus ad-hoc events in the year which Directors are sometimes expected to attend. Directors are also involved in correspondence and decision-making in between meetings. Some Directors may take on a specific role (e.g. Chair, Safeguarding Lead etc) which is dependent on vacancy and suitability of skills and experience. The expected time commitment of a Director is in the region of 1 to 4 hours per week which will vary over the year.
Benefits: This is a voluntary, unremunerated position. You will gain valuable experience of being a company director, and experience of leading a non-profit organisation: a community interest company (CIC) which are all valued on a CV. You will have the opportunity to gain or develop other skills depending on specific roles you may take up on the Board. This is an opportunity to make a difference to families with young children and have an impact on the local community.

The Team
The Targeted Support Team deliver a wide variety of programmes to empower young people and adults to improve their confidence and skills and progress into training and employment. Leading group sessions and individualised mentoring, the team deliver with passion and expertise to individuals from a range of backgrounds, offering person-centred guidance and support.
The Role
CXK is looking for an Engagement & Employability Assistant to support our programmes across Kent and Medway. As an Engagement & Employability Assistant, you'll use your creativity and mentoring skills to aid tailored support to individuals in various community settings, preparing them for the workforce or further education. Whether through one-on-one sessions or group activities, you'll foster personal, social, and employability skills, helping to equip beneficiaries with the tools they need to move into education, training, an apprenticeship, or sustained employment.
The main responsibilities of the role are to:
- Support the delivery of engaging unaccredited/accredited training sessions and workshops, incorporating both face-to-face and online formats to suit diverse learning styles.
- Employ a person-centred approach, adapting strategies to suit individual or group dynamics.
- Deliver personalised mentoring, advice, and guidance to unemployed young people and adults, nurturing their growth and employability.
- Identify the additional support needs of young people and adults and work with appropriate providers to ensure this is available to them.
- Support work placements and other community opportunities and be confident working in detached and outreach settings.
- Advocate for young people and adults, working to support them and their families to address barriers to progression with sensitivity and confidentiality.
