Summary
The Notts Recovery Collective is a new, unique 5-yr Lottery-funded project: it will develop a Member-led community of people in recovery, to shape a bold, inclusive, and sustainable future for recovery support in Nottinghamshire.
Over the next five years, the Collective will engage people in recovery, train and support volunteers, and foster skills-based and employment opportunities for people with lived experience. Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Brixton. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison based. From personalised care to simply being there, you will support the students at college and pursue their hobbies, learn life skills such as cooking and laundry and lead a busy and active life.

• Undertake general maintenance to hard and soft landscaped areas owned by the Group, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, clearing leaves and shrub bed cultivations.
• Provide a rapid flexible response to the removal of fly tipping, rubbish removal and graffiti removal.
• Maintain safe working practices at all times when utilising appropriate hand tools and machinery.
• Report health, safety and environmental breaches and issues to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor in line with the agreed escalation route.
• Apply ‘Our Riverside Way’ within the environmental offer by delivering excellent levels of customer service at all times.
