The Senior Finance Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance function by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust accounting processes, and partnering with business stakeholders to provide financial insight. This position involves ownership of key month-end activities, including journal postings, reconciliations, and variance analysis, as well as assisting with budgeting and forecasting cycles.
The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across departments to support decision-making and drive financial performance. The Senior Finance Assistant will also contribute to process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards.
About you:
- Operate to deadlines and prioritisation.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable team player
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate)
- Familiarity with Sage 200 and Paperless systems (training provided if not)
- Comfortable planning invoice and payment cycles
Location:The Horder Centre, CrowboroughContract Type:Full-time, PermanentWork Pattern:Office Hours, Monday to FridaySalary:Between £26,000 to £30,000 per annum(Experience Dependent)Right to work in the UKIn accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment.
