This role is responsible for the provision of a high quality, evidence based and specialist programme of psychological assessment and support for people dealing with cancer.
You will contribute professional expertise to the Maggie’s MDT and integrated programme of cancer support for people living with the impact of cancer, aligned with the Clinical and Counselling Psychology Role Expectation Guidelines.
You will contribute to the Maggie’s organisational programme of psychosocial research and work closely with the Centre Head to develop and promote the programme of support.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for psychological leadership and the governance of psychological thinking, recording and activity undertaken within the centre team.
- Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for people living with the impact of cancer by utilising a range of psychotherapeutic formats for support including individual, couples, family, group work, support groups and networking groups, and other mechanisms including psycho-educational formats such as workshops and lectures.
- Utilise theoretical and evidence based practice in relation to programme provision
- Record and report all data in relation to own work.
- Supervise centre staff regarding psychological aspects of programme provision and facilitate staff support and supervision meeting.
- Responsible with the Centre Head for training and development of staff and volunteers.
- Ensure the development and articulation of psychological best practice within the centre
- Develop and assure quality and evaluate Maggie’s programme in collaboration with the Centre Head, at a local and national level.
- Responsible for the management of psychological risk within the centre.

Skills, knowledge and expertise
- Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) and eligible for chartered status with BPS
- Contributing to and working within the context of a multi-disciplinary care team.
- Teaching/training and providing consultation to groups - professional or non-professional.
- Familiar with working from models of psychological wellness, the psychology of health, normal adjustment to illness and quality of life in contrast to a medical model of illness.
- Demonstrable skills in design and conduct of audit and research.
- Expert communicator able to convey complex, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, families, carers and a range of lay and professional persons.
- Project management and IT skills that support qualitative or quantitative research.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner who wants to be involved in looking after all aspects of a young child’s development. The role involves being hands on with the children in the setting (ranging from babies to pre-schoolers) joining in with play, reading stories, singing songs and being alongside the children in their day-to-day activities.

Family Wellbeing Practitioner (Young Person) Project Worker 1: for Barnardo's Cyfle Service.
Location of Post:
The Young Person Wellbeing Practitioner will be based from the Westbourne Centre in Rhyl and will supporting young people in local schools/community hubs and family homes. A digital offer will also be made available to the service users.
Summary of Service:
Service 2- Young Person's Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service.
Aim: To offer 1:1 and/or group support to young people to improve their emotional wellbeing through tailored support packages which is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure their voice is heard in the progress of their plan- to help them reach their desired outcomes.
Who is it for: Young People aged 12- up until their 18th Birthday (depending on assessed need).
Job purpose
The post holder will directly support young people to positively manage emotional well-being issues.
Job Activities:
To meet with the young person and support with their emotional health and wellbeing needs on a regular and planned basis. An assessment of their needs will be required to help formulate a support plan.
- To facilitate communication and engagement with young people using a range of approaches.
- Attend service meetings involving staff and young people.
- Liaise, mediate and advocate with other agencies, individuals and communities who are significant to the lives of young people.
- Encourage active participation of young people in the management, operations and development of the service.
- Work with young people, the Voice and Influence worker and the Team Manager and Children's Services Manager to facilitate young people presenting their views and ideas directly to help shape the development of the new service.
- Contribute to meeting and reporting on targets set by Families First.
Specific Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of other supportive emotional health and wellbeing services available to young people.
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people and the systems which impact upon their lives (Health, benefits, education, employment, housing).
- Involvement in establishing and working with support networks for young people.
- Involvement in designing and implementing group and individual programmes of work with vulnerable young people.
- Skilled in communicating with young people.
- A full, clean driving licence and the use of a car to meet the requirements of the post.
- Be able to work flexible hours, including planned occasional evenings and weekends.

(Goosewell site excluded) • To supervise storage and care of equipment along with maintenance of buildings when repair work is needed, adhering to health and safety requirements, before and after the sessions. This can include meeting with contractors outside of opening times. • To carry out necessary cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, hygienic environment, this can mean operating outside of opening times when children are not present. • To lead and manage a team of staff, ensuring that appropriate cover for the group is always present. • To hold supervision for all members of staff team on a regular basis. All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care.
