Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lecturer in Rheumatology in the School of Infection & Immunity. This is a fixed term (up to 6 years or up until six months after obtaining CCT, whichever is soonest). You will hold MRCP or equivalent and will have completed general professional training in Medicine. It is expected that you will already hold a higher research degree (MD/PhD), but in exceptional circumstances you may be appointed without this qualification, although progression would be dependent upon you successfully completing this qualification in the first years of the post. If you do not possess a higher degree, you will be supported in developing an appropriate project, pursuing any necessary funding and executing research suitable for submission of a post-graduate degree. The successful candidate will be appointed at the appropriate level of Specialty Trainee and will enter the West of Scotland Higher Training Programme in Rheumatology. You must already have a national training number at the time of taking up the post.
The post will be based within the School of Infection & Immunity in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS). Whilst clinical training will be a major focus of the Lectureship in order to ensure you can successfully complete your certificate of completion of training (CCT), this post will also provide an exceptional opportunity for combined academic training. Clinical training will focus on Rheumatology, with the potential to develop subspeciality expertise. It is anticipated that clinical training will take place within the main University hospital sites – predominantly at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. However, as required for training, there are opportunities to pursue a period of clinical training in other West of Scotland Centres.
Research training will be undertaken in the world class academic environment of the University of Glasgow with excellent interdisciplinary opportunities, including immunological translational science and experimental medicine. For this Lectureship, the School are particularly keen to develop further capacity in our areas of Internationally recognised research excellence, for example psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, neuroinflammation and vasculitis. However, applicants who have other research interests that are aligned with College and Institute strategy are still encouraged to apply.
Job Purpose
The academic aim of the lectureship would be to allow research development to support intermediate fellowship applications by the end of the lectureship and eventual growth to an independent academic career.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research
The appointee will have an established interest in research with a record of achievement in an area relevant to existing interests in the School of Infection and Immunity within the College of MVLS. The appointee will be expected to:
- Develop a programme of research under supervision of senior investigators in the Institute of Infection & Immunity, in a subject area in basic and/or translational and/or clinical science related to rheumatology.
- Plan, design and implement projects with collaborators as appropriate; and to contribute to and submit grant applications and publications of impactful papers.
For this post the applicant will develop their program of research under the supervision of senior academic staff Professors Siebert and Basu.
There are extensive laboratory and clinical facilities for research within the School (https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/infectionimmunity/), College of MVLS, and related Schools and Institutes within the University of Glasgow.

The Project Manager, nominal 0.4 FTE, will coordinate all the work required to prepare and submit a successful Delivery phase application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Project Light and Space is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players we have been awarded a c£700k grant to develop the Project which will conserve 8 of its unique medieval English stained glass windows and surrounding stonework, repair towers and roofs, relocate internal facilities to a new-build extension and create interpretation and hospitality space, improve accessibility, introduce new level floors with underfloor heating, improve the biodiversity of the churchyard and instigate a programme of engagement and activity. The full cost of the project, including the Delivery phase, is c£12m.
The PCC (the Client) wishes to establish a project team which is in place throughout the life cycle of the Project Light and Space. You will also co-ordinate team meetings, update training and provide supervision for LEP’s and Volunteers and where applicable support with Level 2 peer mentoring qualification
You will be required to manage a diverse case load with a range of complexities and risk levels . You will be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, creating a collaborative action plan, maintaining accurate record keeping throughout.
You will be responsible for adhering to the targets set by Forward and the local commissioners. Co-operative working relationships with other partner agencies and probation staff are vital to this role.
In addition to Monday-Friday we will provide out of hours support, so some degree of flexibility will be required (eg. evenings 5– 9pm/weekends 9am–5pm) provided virtually 1:1 and through an online and telephone helpline.
You may at times be required to attend our head office for training.
All probation-based roles will require enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting. Please note this process can take up to 3-6 weeks. All offers are subject to receiving both HMPPS vetting and DBS clearances.

SOLIHULL PARISH Role of District Safeguarding Co-ordinator
Purpose
To be the District church (St Alphege, St Michael or St Helen) representative on all matters relating to
safeguarding.
The co-ordinator is responsible to the Rector , the Parish Safeguarding Coordinator and the DCC who
should support the co-ordinator in the implementation of policy.
They are not a contact for reporting concerns or allegations.
Main Duties
Ensure Parish Safeguarding policy is followed in the District church by
1. Reporting any concerns or potential risks to the Rector and the Parish Safeguarding Coordinator
2. Being aware of all policies and processes in the Parish relating to safeguarding
3. Cascading information relating to safeguarding in respect of Diocesan policy, parish policy and
training opportunities
4. Liaising closely with those leading activities involving children and young people and vulnerable
adults in the District church to ensure safe practice is exercised at all times
5. Monitoring for each activity that there is a risk assessment which is reviewed annually
6. Ensuring all paid and unpaid workers are recruited according to the Parish processes for the
recruitment of employees or Recruitment of Volunteers
7. Identifying training needs, liaising with the Parish Safeguarding Co-ordinator where necessary, to
ensure all paid workers and volunteers update training at least every three years
8. Ensure DBS checks are done including rechecking after three years by liaising with the Parish Office
9. Ensuring records are maintained and available at Parish level on
a. all activities within the District church. (activity to be set up as a group on Churchbuilder
with leader and helpers)
b. the details of all those appointed in the District church as paid workers and volunteers
(details of all volunteers for an activity/group to be maintained on Churchbuilder)
c. safeguarding training of all paid workers and volunteers in the District church
10. Ensuring that any hiring of church premises has met safeguarding measures required.
11. Seeking advice on specific issues should the need arise
12. Reporting regularly to the DCC. (Note: This should be a standing item on the agenda but there may
not always be a report)
13. Being aware of and manage risk of any Safeguarding Agreements

The Membership & Adoptions team are a dynamic and exciting department within the zoo. As a team, we look after over 170,000 Members and Adopters! We are responsible for selling new memberships and adoptions face to face and over the telephone. We respond to emails and queries over the phone, process all online sales, assist customers in the queue and much more!
As a Membership & Adoptions assistant, you will:
• Sell membership and adoptions face to face with customers in a polite and efficient manner in order to meet our annual sales targets.
• Check and secure cash taken through the till and assist with cash up.
• Process the administration of membership and adoptions sales, inclusive of data input, online order processing, telephone payments and email communications.
• Assist in the monitoring of literature & stock including stationery and adoption images.
