Mercy Corps is present in the DRC since August 2007 with a current workforce of more than 300 national and expatriate employees and operational presence in Goma and Beni (North Kivu Province), in Bunia (Ituri Province), and in Tshikapa, Kalonda West and Ndjoko Punda (Kasai Province), and representation in the capital city, Kinshasa. As a leading NGO in DRC working with more than 40 partners in 2024, Mercy Corps reached 2.12 million people in North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri and Kasai with integrated programs that ensured equitable access to improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in humanitarian and development settings; supported a comprehensive, rapid response to ongoing humanitarian needs; promoted economic and livelihood development to strengthen food security and resilience; as well as institutional capacity strengthening and social cohesion to foster peace and good governance.
THE POSITION (General Position Summary)
The People and Culture (P&C) Director is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, leading, and delivering people-centered, compliant, and future-ready People & Culture function for Mercy Corps DRC. As a core member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the role provides strategic leadership on workforce planning, organizational culture, staff wellbeing, talent management, and risk mitigation in a complex humanitarian and development context.
The incumbent serves as a trusted advisor to the Country Director and SMT, ensuring that people strategies directly enable program quality, operational excellence, safeguarding, and sustainability, while reflecting Mercy Corps’ values and global People & Culture standards.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
VISION, STRATEGY, AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- Lead the development, articulation, and execution of a long-term People & Culture vision aligned with Mercy Corps DRC’s country strategy and global P&C priorities.
- Translate strategic objectives into annual P&C work plans with clear priorities, resourcing, timelines, and measurable results.
- Drive organizational change and culture transformation initiatives, ensuring the P&C function is proactive, adaptive, and future-oriented.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Country Director and SMT on workforce design, succession planning, leadership development, and culture-related decisions.
- Inspire, lead, and manage a high-performing P&C team, fostering accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
STRATEGIC WORKFORCE PLANNING AND HR LEADERSHIP
- Design and implement a comprehensive People & Culture strategy aligned with Mercy Corps DRC’s operational, programmatic, and growth ambitions.
- Lead workforce planning to ensure timely, agile, and cost-effective staffing solutions in a volatile, high-risk and legally complex operating environment.
- Integrate HR considerations into proposal development, program design, and operational planning, including staffing models, risk assessments, and budgets.
- Establish and monitor HR performance metrics, dashboards, and analytics, providing regular, data-driven reporting to SMT, regional and global HR.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT, WELLBEING, AND ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
- Develop and implement a contextually appropriate staff wellbeing framework, integrating psychosocial support, resilience-building, duty of care, and recognition initiatives.

Director of Music The Music Department is led by the Director of Music and consists of a Second in Department, Head of Prep Music, the Graduate Assistant, as well as 12 visiting Instrumental Teachers. The music staff are a strong team who work closely with other departments around the School. The Senior Department is an inspiring and busy place to be with up to three groups rehearsing every lunchtime and a full programme at the end of most days. Senior groups include three choirs, a Concert Orchestra, a Jazz Band, Big Band, String Orchestra, Brass Ensemble, Flute Group, String Quartet and multiple pupil-led bands. The Prep Department has three choirs (including a Pre-Prep Choir) a String Orchestra, a Rock Band and, each term, various group instrument lessons are showcased. There is at least one large-scale concert each term, as well as numerous recitals, informal concerts, Scholars’ and soloist concerts. Concerts are highly acclaimed amongst the parent and staff body, with many selling out within 24 hours. Music is housed in a beautiful building incorporating the Chapel and an Apple Mac suite. You will track policy and parliamentary developments, produce clear and evidence‑based briefings, and support influencing activity across the health, social care, criminal justice and domestic abuse issues. Working closely with colleagues, people with lived experience and external partners, you will help shape policy positions, respond to consultations and build strong relationships with decision‑makers. You’ll share Brainkind’s commitment to inclusion and collaboration, ensuring our work reflects lived experience and creates meaningful, lasting change.
MAIN PURPOSE:
The work of the Policy and Social Change team seeks to empower people with brain injuries, or neurological conditions, who are often experiencing additional complex health inequalities, with the knowledge and skills they need to make positive changes in their lives, often leading to greater inclusion. This approach is supported by a whole organisation commitment to increase the identification and awareness of brain injury supported by collaboration with other professionals within the criminal justice sector, healthcare professionals, and practitioners in the domestic abuse sector.
The Policy and Influencing Officer will become part of this dynamic team which combines innovation, and research to drive social change for people with brain injuries, and neurological conditions. Influencing work is underpinned by developing knowledge and understanding, alongside delivering bespoke services and evaluating them.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To keep appraised of the relevant UK and devolved nations policy and parliamentary activity related to Brainkind’s interest areas to inform the production of internal briefings and timely External Affairs Briefing for the Senior Leadership Team.
- To horizon scan and identify public policy initiatives which may be of interest to the organisation for presentation to the Head of Policy, Influencing and Social Change Programmes.
- To produce evidence based, high quality policy briefings, and research projects in a range of format across several government policy areas. To have the ability to understand complex information and communicate it both orally, and in writing with good attention to detail.
- To develop credible policy positions by undertaking appropriate literature reviews, data analysis, and primary research under the direction of the Head of Policy, Influencing and Social Change Programmes.
- Utilise agreed policy positions to prepare responses to relevant consultations and calls for evidence. And, to develop policy positions to respond to calls for evidence that are relevant to the organisation.
- To review and update our parliamentary, government, and political monitoring, horizon scanning and stakeholder mapping, as we systematise our public affairs approach. To review our membership bodies to ensure we are represented, and they reflect value for money.
- To support Brainkind’s parliamentary activity including drafting questions, briefings, managing mailings to parliamentarians, and any subsequent relationships. Devising and implementing influencing activity, including writing briefings and submissions for political audiences.
- To work with Brainkind’s communications team to draft social media content related to Brainkind’s policy and public affairs activity, ensuring policy materials are effectively communicated through digital channels within the Trust, and externally.
- Develop and manage a variety of different stakeholder relationships, including with internal colleagues across the organisation as well as external stakeholders from across the brain injury and neurological conditions sector, including membership bodies, representative bodies, as well as people who use our services and the public.

SOCIT is an Information Services team that provides IT services to a consortium of Oxford Colleges.
The SOCIT Information Security Lead (ISL) will be working with, and reporting to, the SOCIT Head of IT and will be responsible for leading IT software projects while also serving as the strategic lead for security initiatives across the Consortium and member Colleges.
The ISL will help the group establish and maintain compliance with information security standards and create a prioritised programme of improvements and ensure implementation both technically and practically.
