About you:
You must be a current or prospective student at BU or AUB who’s ready to work in a high-energy, fast paced environment. You’ll bring a positive attitude, be a great team player, and have a genuine interest in nightlife and events.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Setting up and taking down staging, set and all kinds of venue equipment for a variety of events.
· Installing industry-standard sound and lighting equipment specific to each event.
· Assisting touring artists and shows to set up in the venue.
· Learning to work closely and efficiently as a team, following correct industry safety practices, and achieving great results together.
· Taking care to keep our venue tidy, organised and running smoothly.
· Working hard! We greatly value hard work and attitude above prior experience and knowledge.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Serving drinks efficiently and with great customer service at the bar
· Working on the box office giving customers a great first impression of the venue.
· Running the pot-wash and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the venue.
· Supporting the upkeep of the venue during and after events
· Upholding hygiene, safety, and licensing standards at all times
· Contributing to a fun, respectful, and inclusive team culture

Student Graphic Designer
Part-time role – initial three-month basis (starting late January 2026), with opportunity to extend until July 2026
The Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) is looking for a student graphic designer to work alongside our comms department.
You will work closely with our Graphic & Web Designer and Marketing Manager to support the day-to-day design needs of SUBU. This is an incredible opportunity to join a dynamic team that represents over 14,000 students at Bournemouth University, whilst working on a variety of campaigns across our digital and print channels.
We’re looking for a creative individual with a vibrant portfolio of work, with a desire to grow their skills to a professional level. You will need to have some experience in producing impactful artwork and typeset designs to firm deadlines, whilst managing your workload and setting realistic targets and priorities.
If you have an eye for great copy and a creative flair to produce stunning design work, this could be the role for you!
We need someone who is:
- Competent in Adobe design software. We primarily work with Illustrator and InDesign (Photoshop, Video editing and HTML coding would be a bonus!)
- Able to work on the Mac OSX operating system
- A fast, efficient worker with thorough attention to detail
- Naturally creative with fresh ideas
- Great at visual communication and presenting a message clearly
- Brand-savvy and understands marketing basics
- Able to translate designs across different mediums
- Open to feedback and able to amend designs according to the client’s final comments
You must be a current Bournemouth University or Arts University Bournemouth student to apply for this role.
This role will be offered on a zero-hour contract. We can offer up to 20 hours per week between January - March, with flexibility to fit around your studies.
Depending on workload from the department, there may be an opportunity to extend this contract until July 2026.

Job Title: Student Graphic Designer

Location: SUBU, The Student Centre, Talbot Campus
Hours: Part-Time up to 20 hours per week
Rate of pay: £10.00 - £12.21ph (dependent on age)
