Senior Care and Support Assistant
As senior you will work closely with the Care Quality Lead and the Registered Manager.
Your role will be to support the staff on duty in maintaining and delivering the highest standards of care to our residents within the care home including assisting with the administration and ordering of medication, supervisions and care planning.
The role requires individuals who are passionate, caring and want to make a difference to the lives of our elderly residents. Being proactive and reactive within your role is key to knowing when and how to act in every situation.
You will be working 35 hours a week at Beddell House, which is a residential care home for older adults on a private country estate based in Sherburn House in County Durham.
Candidates are required to hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care – Level 4 is desirable and will ideally have a supervisory/management qualification.
You must have experience in administration of medication as well as line management of staff and care planning.
Hourly Rate: £14.32 per hour
Full-time – 35 hrs per week

As a care assistant you will be meeting the individual care and support for residents in a way that respects their dignity and promotes their independence.
Good communication skills, a caring and compassionate nature alongside an understanding of the needs of older people will all be important traits for this rewarding job.
Successful applicants are required to undertake an enhanced DBS.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will
- Have a strong work ethic and puts the resident needs first.
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care and have experience in providing care to older people with varying levels of disability and or dementia.
- Must be able to work between the hours 07.00 – 22.00 on a 8 hour shift pattern (5 days per week) over a 7 days rolling period. Night shift patterns are 21.45 – 07.30
