Job Purpose
Buddies are paired 1:1 with a child with special needs, which may include physical disabilities, learning difficulties, sight or hearing impairment or emotional or behavioural difficulties. Buddies may also support leaders within a group where there are several children who do not require individual attention but collectively may need additional supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To work with a designated child as a 1:1 carer to ensure that they can engage with a group of nondisabled peers and participate in the activities on offer.
- Actively engaging children/young people, providing encouragement and support.
- Being a welcoming and caring individual and an inspirational role model.
- Working with and respecting others in a large and diverse team.
- To support and champion the child ensuring that their individual needs are identified, acknowledged and met.

Job Purpose:
YMCA Basingstoke is located in Basingstoke town centre and is a purpose-built housing facility accommodating 83 people aged 18-35, supporting them to live independently. As a key member of the Youth Engagement Team working at Basingstoke this post will work alongside the Community Manager to deliver evidenced-based and youth-focused programmes to residents and the wider Basingstoke Community.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, promote and deliver engaging and relevant social activities and programmes on a daily basis to young people
- Support, mentor, coach and ‘walk alongside’ individuals in their pursuit of independence and community cohesion
- Undertake risk assessments and support planning interviews with new residents
- Develop community minded support and activities that involve the wider community
- Engage third parties to deliver support and activities to young people
- To act as an advocate for young people and to engage partner agencies and services appropriate to the young people’s needs

Job Purpose:
Reporting into the Business Partner responsible for Early Years, this role is key in supporting the invoicing, cash collection and control over seven Early Years settings. With income of more than £7m and a growth area for the YMCA, this is a key area of the business and an exciting time to join. The successful candidate will be a member of a small team and have the following core areas of focus:
- Generating the monthly invoicing, applying the government funding and collection of the cash.
- Support in resolving queries from parents.
- Support the EY Director and nursery managers in understanding any invoicing and payment issues within a setting.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- At all times work within the YMCA Way
- Ensure the Early Years invoicing is issued on a timely basis with funding correctly applied
- Apply direct debits accurately and post payments accurately onto parent accounts.
- Taking payments via credit card, BACS, childcare vouchers, TFC
- Applying funding/nursery grants to individual accounts in the nursery management system
- Investigating and resolving invoice and funding queries as required in a timely manner
- Credit control by email and phone
- Carrying out funding claims with applicable council
- Reconciling funding/nursery grants
- Maintaining child records in the nursery management system
- Allocating group income to the correct account
- Supporting nursery managers in recording usage of designated funds
- SME for early years funding
- Posting month-end journals to record early years income
- Maintain regular and frequent communication with all nurseries, including visits
- Be an active team player within the Early years team and within the organisation as a whole
- Claiming funding in a timely manner from the local councils and reconciling the amounts received.

Qualifications/Experience:

- Basic understanding of finance principles
- Full UK Driving License – Travel will be expected to meet business needs

Job Purpose:
Based in the heart of the local Newtown Community, the Youth Services Quality Manager will be a driving force in boosting community engagement, and the quality of our Youth Services. This dual role will be responsible for managing the Newtown Community Centre, ensuring we continue the legacy of strong local community engagement and connection, whilst also ensuring that the venue is used appropriately. Newtown Youth Centre
- Provide management oversight of the Newtown Youth Centre, including managing bookings, invoices, payments and ensuring that all customers have the required information and support to assist them with their usage of the centre.
- Create a safe, warm and welcoming environment that encourages the local community to use Newtown as their community hub.
- Create and maintain local partnerships and co-produce activities with the local community, partner organisations and others.
- Take ownership for managing the building, including working with internal and external partners to keep the Youth Centre fully operational at all times.

Programme Quality Management

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
This is a pivotal lead role in the nursery focusing on quality, practice and installing our values through the YMCA Way. The job holder will be expected to critically appraise the everyday nursery practice, identify areas of development and work in co-operation with nursery staff to raise and embed high standards within their rooms.

Job Purpose:
Reporting into the Business Partner responsible for Early Years, this role is key in supporting the invoicing, cash collection and control over six Early Years settings. With income of more than £8m and a growth area for the YMCA, this is a key area of the business and an exciting time to join. - Generating the monthly invoicing, applying the government funding and collection of the cash.
- Support in resolving queries from parents.

- Substantial experience gained in a similar development role and (ideally) in a similar environment
- Extensive experience of project management and delivery

- Experience in budget setting, management, monitoring and interpreting financial information
- An excellent understanding of the Early Years marketplace and high quality Early Years provision

Job Purpose
The Lead Practitioner is a key member of our nursery leadership team, with a prime focus on supporting children across the setting who have any form of additional need or vulnerability.
The job holder will be expected to observe children and, alongside keypersons, identify children in need of additional support, develop individual education plans, make onward referrals, and support and coach nursery teams to embed high standards of care to meet identified needs.
As part of the leadership team, the Lead Practitioner will also contribute towards the wider nursery improvement plan, coach and develop staff and on occasions deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager. This post is primarily supernumerary with an expectation that the majority of time will be spent working directly with staff and children, in rooms and the garden.
Person Specification & Key Competencies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Level 5 childcare qualification or Level 3, relevant experience and willingness to train.
- Experience of implementing improvements in an early years setting, including demonstrating best practice, coaching staff, setting objectives, and keeping records.
- Experience and understanding of child development, behaviour management, SENCO and identified groups of children.
- Good knowledge of matters relating to health and safety.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding good practice.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification or willingness to train.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (level 3 or above) or willingness to train.

Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a nurturing environment whilst engaging with children of all ages and developmental skills, encouraging each child to meet his/her potential by supporting them through learning and play with positive reinforcement and praise.
- Support children, co-workers and parents alike; deliver stimulating indoor and outdoor activities; complete and record daily observations for children in your care; and plan their next developmental steps in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
