Job title: Young Person’s Worker (Housing Focus)

Delegated Authority: Level 8

Team: Camden Young Person’s Accommodation Service

Responsible to: Service Manager

Responsible for: N/A

Job purpose

At Camden Young Person’s High Support Accommodation, this role exists to help make sure young people have more than a room — they have a safe, well-managed place to live, build confidence and take their next steps towards independence. For many young people, housing systems, rent, repairs, licence agreements and move-on processes can feel confusing, stressful or easy to disengage from. This role helps turn those practical pressures into moments of support, learning and progress.

As Young Person’s Worker — Housing Focus, you will support the smooth running of the accommodation by helping young people understand and manage the housing responsibilities linked to their stay. You will work alongside colleagues to support move-ins, occupancy records, rent and service charge prompts, voids, repairs, building standards and housing-related actions, making sure the service remains safe, responsive and well organised.

This is also a relationship-based role. You will work directly with young people in a trauma informed, strengths-based and psychologically informed way, helping them build routines, confidence and the practical skills they need to sustain accommodation now and in the future. Through clear records, strong communication and close working with the Service Manager, internal teams, landlords, contractors and partners, you will help create a service where young people feel safe, respected and ready for what comes next.

Key accountabilities

Provide practical and relational support to young people around move-in, move-on and accommodation-related actions.

Work in a trauma informed and strengths-based way, recognising how past experiences can affect trust, engagement and confidence in managing housing responsibilities.

Occupancy, move-in and move-on processes

Support the Service Manager and wider team with move-in and move-on processes, ensuring paperwork, records and young people’s information are accurate and up to date.

Contribute to service risk assessments, building checks and local action plans where required.

Maintain accurate housing, facilities and young person records in line with SHP policy, data protection requirements and service expectations.

Support general service administration linked to housing management, including letters, forms, records, reports and monitoring information.
