We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Assistant who takes real pride in keeping buildings safe, well maintained and welcoming for the people who live and work in them. This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. From carrying out everyday repairs and completing routine safety checks, to helping prepare spaces for activities or supporting with the upkeep of outdoor areas, you’ll play a key part in making sure our care home and community spaces run smoothly. Just as importantly, you’ll help create an environment where residents feel comfortable, secure and proud to call home.

This role operates on a 6-day rota (Monday to Saturday), with shifts taking place between 8:00am and 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, on £12.86 per hour.

You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems and getting stuck in, with experience in general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating or repairs to fixtures and fittings. You’ll understand the importance of health and safety, keep accurate records of the checks you complete and work closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure everything is maintained to a high standard. Because you’ll often be working around residents and care staff, we’re looking for someone approachable, respectful and mindful of people’s privacy and wellbeing.

Whether it’s helping move equipment, supporting with room refurbishments, keeping paths clear and safe, or ensuring supplies are delivered where they’re needed, you’ll be a dependable member of the team who’s always willing to lend a hand.
