USA Student-Athlete Futures Counsellor

USA Student-Athlete Futures Counsellor
Closing date: Noon, 17th June

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable USA Student-Athlete Counsellor to join our Futures team and play a key role in supporting aspiring student-athletes on their journey to university in the United States. This is a part-time role, with salary and hours to be negotiated; we are able to be flexible for the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with first-hand experience of the USA collegiate system, ideally as a student-athlete, coach or graduate within an NCAA programme. The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact for students and families exploring the USA pathway, providing guidance, encouragement and practical support throughout the process.

Millfield is not like other schools and never has been. Founded in 1935, Millfield’s vision is to be the world leader in the development of children. There are nearly 1,300 students at the Senior School (Years 9–13) and a further 450 pupils at the neighbouring Prep School. Millfield’s scale creates exceptional opportunities, supported by facilities that are unrivalled in the UK. These include an Olympic-sized swimming pool; world-class hockey, rugby and football pitches; golf courses; indoor centres for tennis, golf and cricket; an equestrian centre; a concert hall, recording studio, theatre and art gallery; a state-of-the-art science centre; and outstanding boarding accommodation.

The Futures Department provides tailored guidance and support to students as they explore their post-Millfield pathways. The department has an outstanding reputation for supporting applications to USA universities, particularly for student-athletes. In recent years, Millfield has consistently been one of the leading contributors of UK-based student-athletes progressing to NCAA programmes, with last year's cohort accounting for almost 10% of all NCAA athletes joining from UK schools.

Working closely with Futures staff, coaches, students and families, the USA Student-Athlete Counsellor will support all aspects of the USA university recruitment and application process. Responsibilities will include assisting students with university research and shortlisting, developing recruitment profiles and highlight reels, communicating with college coaches, supporting applications and admissions processes, and guiding students through NCAA eligibility requirements.

The role would particularly suit a recent graduate or early-career professional with experience of the USA collegiate athletic system who is passionate about helping young people realise their academic and sporting ambitions.

**Please note that applications will be considered on receipt, and as a result the vacancy may close early should an appointment be made. As such we would recommend submitting your application as soon as possible**

We encourage applications online wherever possible. To apply, please click here to register your email address and password on the online portal. Please contact us at recruitment@millfieldschool.com if you require support with completing your online application or require this in an alternative format.
