As we grow and launch new services, we are seeking an Executive Pastor to join our senior leadership team to steward our vision and organisational effectiveness. • The Role The Executive Pastor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the vision and priorities of Christ Church London are effectively implemented across the organisation. Working closely with the Senior Leaders and Leadership Team, the Executive Pastor will help translate vision into action by strengthening teams, building effective systems, and ensuring the church operates with clarity, wisdom, and strong stewardship. • The role provides strategic and operational oversight for: • Operations • Communications • • Finance, governance, and risk Sunday volunteer teams This is an opportunity for a spiritually mature leader who combines strong organisational leadership with a heart to serve the mission of the church. The person will be someone who thrives on turning vision into action through teams and systems. They’ll also be someone who empowers others and supports ministries as they grow. Key Responsibilities – • Leadership & Culture - Serve as a core member of the Leadership and Executive Teams. - Champion the vision, culture, and values of Christ - Church London. Strengthen collaboration, unity, and communication across ministries and teams. Staff & Volunteer Leadership - Provide oversight and line management for Operations, Finance, and Communications teams. Foster healthy collaboration across departments. Support a culture where staff and volunteers are equipped and encouraged to flourish. • Strategy & Implementation - Translate leadership priorities into clear plans, - goals, and timelines. Strengthen systems and processes that support effective ministry. - Help align ministries and teams around shared priorities. Finance, Governance & Operations - Provide leadership and oversight for financial systems, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure compliance with charity governance, risk, legal and financial best practice Support ministry leaders in stewarding budgets and resources well. - - - - • Communications - Work with the Communications team to ensure clarity and consistency across church communications. Strengthen internal communication between teams and ministries. - 2 JOB DESCRIPTION: EXECUTIVE PASTOR Person Profile – • We are looking for someone who: - Is a spiritually mature Christian committed to prayer, Scripture, and the life of the church. - Has significant leadership experience, including strategic planning and organisational oversight. Is an emotionally intelligent leader who empowers others and builds strong teams. - - Has strong organisational and operational skills, with experience building systems and managing complexity. Is financially literate and experienced in overseeing budgets and governance. Is fully aligned with the theology, vision, and values of Christ Church London. - - • Essential - Senior leadership experience with responsibility for strategy, operations, and team leadership. Experience implementing vision and leading organisational development. Experience managing teams and supporting volunteers. Strong financial acumen, including oversight of budgets, resource allocation, risk management, and compliance, with experience translating strategy into operational execution. Strong communication and relational leadership skills. - - - - - Degree-level education or equivalent experience. • Desirable - Theological training or ministry experience. - - Experience in church or faith-based leadership. Experience working with trustees and charitable governance. Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or theology. - Beliefs – Christ Church London is a Christian church that believes in the historic life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in our lives today. Occupational Requirement – There is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful applicant to be a committed Christian. It will be necessary to work on Sundays and occasional evenings, and it is expected that the post holder will have a vibrant and active Christian faith which is essential for the credibility and performance of this role.
