CLEANING ASSISTANT

Edinburgh University Students' Association  is looking to recruit a  Cleaning Assistant to join our Estates team.

Edinburgh University Students’ Association is an award-winning organisation, which exists to provide diverse services, representation, and welfare support to the community of over 49,500 students at the University of Edinburgh. We have five venues around the University of Edinburgh campus – Teviot, King’s Buildings House, Potterrow, the Pleasance and Edinburgh College of Art’s Wee Red Bar – which house our offices, cafés, bars, clubs, spaces for students to meet, study and socialise. Join our cleaning team and become a key part of maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our students/customers. We are looking for a reliable and detailed-orientated individual to handle day to day cleaning tasks, including sanitizing all surfaces, vacuuming, mopping and using floor scrubbing machines.

The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team or independently to high standards while contributing to a positive, cooperative and efficient team atmosphere.

The role requires motivation, the ability to work quickly without compromising quality, and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean environment.

Salary: £13.45 per hour, plus a generous benefits package:

Hours & Pattern:

  • 9 hours per week - Monday to Wednesday, 6am – 9am
  • 12 hours per week - Tuesday to Friday, 6am – 9am

Contract: Zero Hours

The Role:

To use a complete customer-focused approach to ensure excellent service and maintain the highest levels of cleanliness in all EUSA premises. A proactive, interested and observant approach is expected to ensure the delivery expectations of other stake holders are met.

The post holder will be required to work in a variety of shift patterns and buildings across the estate.

The Person:

An enthusiastic, confident and competent cleaning assistant with the ability to achieve high standards.

A person with very high expectations of themselves and others, with a passion for detail, who takes pride in their work, and who has the ability to maintain delivery at a consistently high standard.
