About the Role

As a Casual Recovery Worker, you will work closely with individuals experiencing mental distress, helping them to develop the skills, confidence, and support networks needed to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

You will build positive, trusting relationships and support people to identify and achieve their personal recovery goals.

Please note you will work across our services in Derby.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges

  • Supporting the development and delivery of recovery-focused plans and interventions

  • Encouraging service users to take an active role in their recovery and decision-making

  • Assisting individuals to develop practical life skills, including budgeting, tenancy management, daily living, and self-care

  • Supporting access to employment, education, training, leisure, and community opportunities

  • Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local authorities, charities, and other partner agencies

  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and professional case records using electronic systems

  • Contributing to risk assessments, safety planning, and safeguarding processes

  • Promoting the service within the local community and supporting engagement with stakeholders

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a good understanding of mental health issues and recovery-focused practice

  • Is passionate about supporting people to achieve independence and positive outcomes

  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and resilience

  • Can build effective relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds

  • Works well both independently and as part of a team

  • Remains calm and professional when working in challenging situations

  • Has strong communication and organisational skills

  • Is flexible, creative, and solution-focused

  • Shares our commitment to reducing the stigma associated with mental health

Previous experience in mental health, social care, housing support, community support, or a related field would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine commitment to supporting others.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
