The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a highly qualified and motivated professional to join the Institute’s CARE-C Centre of Excellence on a full-time basis (100% FTE) for its premises at Athalassa’s Campus.
The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic team composed by young talented scientists and technical experts, working in a highly attractive and international environment (English is the formal working language at the CyI).
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation in a collaborative environment. They will also support research programs with environmental/atmospheric applications at the Cyprus Institute (field campaigns in Cyprus and abroad) as well as technical developments in collaboration with other CyI research facilities and affiliated SMEs always focusing on atmospheric observations. It is expected that the successful candidate will be an expert user of a large suite of scientific instruments and instrument communication protocols, while providing technical support to the ARIADNE, SQUAM, SIDE and Net4Cities project related teams.
The candidate will gain valuable exposure to large European scientific networks and projects (e.g., DUST-DN, Net4Cities, ACTRIS). They may also have the chance to participate in field campaigns within the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East as part of the World Bank funded projects SIDE and SQUAM.
The rank of the position will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience (Research Technical Scientist or Senior Research Technical Scientist).
