Projects Coordinator – Communities and Inclusion

The Communities & Inclusion Coordinator will lead the delivery of RUCT’s Communities & Inclusion strategy – using the power of sport to create opportunities, break down barriers and inspire positive change across Rotherham. Working closely with the Head of Communities & Inclusion, you will coordinate high-quality youth and inclusion programmes that reflect the needs of children, young people, adults and older adults. You will be actively involved in leading and delivering sessions, workshops and community activities across all age groups, ensuring each programme is engaging and inclusive.

About Projects Coordinator – Communities and Inclusion

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Delivery: Plan, design and deliver inclusive sessions and projects for people of all ages, ensuring activities are accessible and responsive to different needs, abilities and barriers to participation.
  • Partnerships & Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with National Governing Bodies, funders, local authorities, community groups and volunteers.
  • Project Management: Coordinate budgets, monitor and evaluate outcomes (including online data systems), and identify funding to grow Social Inclusion activities.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Recruit, supervise and mentor staff, volunteers and apprentices; promote sporting and health opportunities across schools, community settings and care homes.
  • Advocacy & Inclusion: Engage underrepresented groups, listen to community voices and remove barriers to participation.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate registers, reports, and participant data; support promotion and recruitment for all projects.
  • Trust-wide Support: Represent RUCT at internal/external meetings, share best practice and provide programme cover as required.
  • Special Conditions: Evening, weekend and matchday working is essential.

Person Specification Essential Attributes

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, staff and projects effectively, while meeting delivery and reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to engage diverse audiences.
  • Passionate about making a difference with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
  • Creative thinker with strong planning, organisational and IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience
  • Experience leading a team, managing staff or volunteers, or taking operational decisions.
  • Proven experience in direct delivery of youth, community, or inclusion programmes, including the ability to adapt sessions to
  • meet the needs of diverse participants.
  • Experience of collecting, managing and reporting data for funders or stakeholders.
  • Coordinate budgets, lead on monitoring and evaluation (including accurate use of online data systems) and prepare reports for funders and stakeholders.
  • Delivering innovative sessions that inspire and engage young people, adults and older adults (including those with disabilities or SEN).
  • Working with local community groups, external providers and funders.
  • Youth work or social-inclusion delivery experience.

Qualifications

  • Youth-related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Level 3 Youth qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Safeguarding, First Aid and Enhanced DBS (Trust will arrange if needed).
  • Desirable: Ability to speak multiple languages; experience with EFL/PL/Sport England-funded projects.
