This role is term-time onlyand is to cover a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months.We require nursing cover for 5 days per week (to include some Saturdays). The hours of work are inthe region of 37 hours per week with 8am to 6pm shifts on some days and 8am to 2pm shifts on others.Despite this being marketed as a full-time role, we are open to considering two part time workers whocan provide cover across all the hours on a job share basis. The school has in the region of 17 weeks holiday per year when you will not be required to work. It is surrounded by smaller towns and villages from which it drawsmany of its pupils. www.cheamschool.co.ukCheam School, Headley, Berkshire, RG19 8LD CHEAM | School Nurse (Maternity Cover)The RoleDuties include:Responsibility for treating injuries and illness within the school in so far as it is within yourjurisdiction and training, using outside medical authorities as appropriateProviding first aid and medical care on the games field during matches and other fixturesHelping run the school surgery and administering medication safely as per protocols Keeping accurate records of medication administered and keeping allergy, asthma and dietaryaction plans up to dateMonitoring and caring for any child who is sick at schoolCarrying out medical related risk assessments when required.Promoting the physical and mental health and well-being of all pupils Assist in the control of outbreaks of infections and infestationsAdvising staff, pupils and parents on the preventative measures to limit the spread of infectionLiaising with the appropriate agencies and ensuring that support is given to pupils as neededEscorting pupils for medical visits, doctor’s appointments and hospital visits where appropriateWorking within codes of practice and professional guidelinesExchanging information with pupils, parents, nursing staff and school staff relating to pupil’scondition and test results. There canbe flexibility with the hours worked and we are open to discussing an alternative working pattern / jobshare with two suitable candidates. The hourly rate for this role is in the region of £18 - £19.50 per hour (dependant on qualifications andexperience). Payment is made for hours actually worked plus for statutory holidays. School Holidays and Days OffSchool holidays are usually 3 weeks at Christmas, 3 weeks at Easter, 8 weeks in the summer, 1 week forFebruary and May half terms and 1 or 2 weeks for October half term.
