Multi-skilled Electrician A great opportunity has arisen for a Multi-skilled Electrician to join our Maintenance Team. Working 40 hours per week over 5 days (to include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis), this role will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical systems, equipment and components. Salary: £31,518.00 per annum Applicants must have an 18th Edition Current Regulations City and Guilds Electrical qualification (or equivalent). This role will also involve helping other members of the Maintenance Team and therefore the successful candidate must be able to carry out a number of trades with confidence and skill. Previous experience in building services and maintenance, including a basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting & decorating is essential. To be a successful member of the Maintenance Team you will need to be hard working, willing to learn and develop and have excellent attention to detail. Inspection, Maintenance and Repair consisting of Plumbing, Building and Carpentry. • Preparation and updating of all documents for all Electrical systems, equipment, and components. • Record keeping of all repairs, installations, and testing of Electrical systems. • Assist other maintenance team members to complete required maintenance works. • Assist where required to support other departments with parkwide events. Key Contacts • Head of Infrastructure Infrastructure Manager • • Other maintenance department staff • Other department staff Page 2 of 4 The Role • To carry out maintenance works requests issued by the infrastructure manager in line with the departmental priority scale • To carry out inspections and services in line with the departmental works schedule. • Diagnose malfunctioning Electrical, equipment, appliances apparatus and fixtures and to locate the cause and then correct the problem. • To carry out regular testing of Electrical systems, equipment, or components in line with the departmental works schedule • To report to management any safety issues within the electrical systems, equipment or components and advise on action required • To report to management improvements and new systems required for electrical systems, equipment, or components • To plan and price new installations of electrical systems, equipment, or components • To produce and update all plans and blueprints of electrical systems, equipment, or components. • To keep up to date all records of installation, repair, servicing and testing of all electrical systems, equipment, or components. • To maintain legal compliance for all electrical systems, equipment, and components. • To carry out other non-electrical works requests as issued by the infrastructure manager • To assist other maintenance trade team members as required to complete works requests. • To ensure electrical supplies in stores are kept at the required level. • To ensure all required requisition forms for electrical supplies and equipment are completed for each works request and submitted to the infrastructure manager for ordering • To ensure the electrical stores are kept clean and tidy • To ensure all works request forms are fully completed at the end of each job • Maintain current qualifications to required standards • Identify with and contribute to Marwell Wildlife Brand Values, mission, and charitable objectives • Adhere to health and safety policy and procedures, identify hazards, and undertake appropriate risk assessments as required. Page 3 of 4 The Candidate Qualifications & Experience Essential • BS7671 Wiring Regulations 18th Edition • Experience in Commercial and Domestic maintenance and repair. • Good working knowledge of other key trades. • Plumbing experience. • Carpentry experience. • Building experience. • Full driving license valid for the UK with a prerequisite to undertake and fulfil the requirements of a medical and driving assessment. • Basic understanding of health and safety requirements. • Experience in workshop tool and machinery use. • Ability to work under direction of others. • Ability to work under own initiative. • Ability to work well in a team environment. • Physical abilities in manual dexterity. • Physical abilities in finger dexterity. • Physical abilities in trunk strength. • Physical abilities in extent flexibility. • Physical abilities in static strength.
