Supported Living Team Leader – Papworth Trust are seeking a Supported Living Team Leader to join their Ipswich, Suffolk team in a newly-created, hands-on role on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role:
As a Supported Living Team Leader, you will support and develop staff while ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for 4 customers and around 20 FTE staff. This hands-on role requires visibility, guidance, and early intervention to maintain safe and consistent service standards. Working hours for this role are 37.5 per week, which will be varied, and you will need to be flexible to observe and support staff across different shifts, including 7:00 am–2:30 pm, 2:30 pm–10:00 pm, and occasional night duties.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide regular supervision and appraisal meetings with staff and deliver constructive feedback to support professional development.
- Manage staff performance, including attendance, standards, professional boundaries, and responsibilities.
- Contribute to rota planning and ensure schedules are accurate and up to date.
- Support timely reporting and learning from incidents, ensuring forms and documentation are completed accurately.
- Complete and maintain support plans and risk assessments for customers, sharing information with colleagues to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Undertake Support Worker observations and provide feedback to staff, Deputy, and Registered Manager.
- Participate in service audits and contribute to governance and compliance monitoring.
About you:
As a Supported Living Team Leader, you’ll have social care experience and a background in supervising colleagues, formally or informally. You’ll have strong communication and organisational skills, confidence in giving feedback, and a commitment to role-modelling values and a person-centred approach. You’ll have experience preparing person-centred support plans and either hold Level 3 Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards it.
Experience in supported living is desirable, but candidates with experience in learning disabilities, autism, complex autism, or mental health will also be considered. Familiarity with digital care management systems, governance or compliance audits is advantageous, and a driving licence and car are preferable for travel between sites.
