BEA is an ambitious, medium-sized charity that supports local older people. Since 1994, we have reduced loneliness and social isolation for older people living in Bramley and parts of Stanningley. Since 2011, our work has extended through OWLS to Headingley, Burley, Hyde Park and parts of Kirkstall. Throughout the pandemic we supported 1,500 local older people and devised an Ambitious Strategic Plan to increase our impact, including how we can reach more of the 10,000 older people eligible to become members of BEA and OWLS.
Job Summary
You will build connections with local older people, in order to increase our engagement with our members. Our annual happiness surveys show that our engaged members are happier than our less engaged members. Your role will be to provide effective and efficient support to our members.
We are looking for someone to support and develop our activities so they are attractive to, and engage our members. You will recruit and engage with local older people plus support, deliver and develop activities. Your support will include extensive interaction with our members including those that we are struggling to engage with our service and activities. Your role will make a real impact on the happiness of others.
We are seeking an individual who has a proven track record of working with older people in the community. The successful candidate will have experience / knowledge of recruiting and engaging older people plus planning and delivering activities. All staff work across both BEA and OWLS.
